Following the historic Abraham Accords Agreement, there has been an increase in interest from Israeli companies to set up in the UAE. However, the UAE legal landscape can be difficult to navigate with Federal, Emirate, and Freezone jurisdictions operating in parallel. In his presentation, Mr. Madar will provide an overview of the UAE legal frameworks and how Data Protection and Privacy fits into the UAE landscape.

Mr. Madar is the Head of Operations at the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, Abu Dhabi Global Market. He has over 10 years of experience in Data Protection and Privacy from the UK and the UAE. He is responsible for overseeing policy, strategy, and enforcement at the Commissioner’s Office. Previously he was managing the global privacy program at Etihad Aviation Group in over 50+ countries. Prior to moving to UAE, Sayid was a Lead Enforcement Officer at the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Sayid has an LL.M in Information Rights Law from Northumbria
